6th Grade Character Council |
The 6th Grade Character Council is a compassionate and service-oriented club dedicated to supporting refugees and making a positive impact in our community. Through reading the novel Refugee by Alan Gratz, students gain a deeper understanding of the challenges faced by displaced individuals worldwide. Inspired by the stories in the book, club members actively participate in organizing and collecting essential items for donation drives, benefiting the New American Pathways organization. By combining literature with community service, the council fosters empathy, awareness, and leadership skills, empowering students to become active and caring members of society. |

7th Grade Character Council |
The 7th grade character council will help lead the 7th grade class in service-learning. They will participate in visiting elementary schools to educate and read to 4th and 5th graders, communicate with business partners, help fundraise to repair wells in South Sudan through our nonprofit partner Water is Basic, and organize the 4th annual WBMS Walk for Water. |

8th Grade Character Council |
8th Character Council will lead our 8th Grade Student body in the 4 steps of service-learning: learn, act, reflect, and celebrate. We will meet once a month to help develop their leadership and communication skills. Each quarter character council members will present/ connect opportunities for 8th graders to serve our community. They will prepare the 8th Grade for the Day of Service and will act as ambassadors when communicating and assisting our community partners. |

Advanced Chamber Orchestra |
The Advanced Chamber Orchestra is the highest-level orchestra at WBMS. We rehearse once per week and play several performances throughout the year at WBMS and other venues when invited. |

Art Club |
For students who enjoy making art and crafting. Any student may join; they do not have to be enrolled in art class. We do small art projects, help with creative endeavors around the building, and learn new art skills together. |

Black History Club |
The purpose of the Black History Club is to encourage the study of Black History, to acknowledge and learn about the achievements and contributions of Black people in America, to learn about the unique cultural traditions of the Black culture, to promote positive self-images, to encourage academic success, and to encourage outstanding behavior. Additionally, the Black History Club will work to promote cultural awareness by planning activities that celebrate Black History Month during the month of February. |

Chinese Club |
We will learn traditional Chinese culture through fun activities, such as cooking, folding origami, writing calligraphy, playing Ping Pong, badminton, Chinese Yoyo, Chinese checkers, and Majiang, and practicing Tai Chi together. |

Debate Club |
Students will work with a debate partner to research our debate topic and write debate speeches in order to debate other middle schools at our tournaments. We will work on our research and speeches during practice, but this club does require that students work outside of the school day and practice time to prepare for tournaments. We compete in the Atlanta Urban Debate League. Tournaments are located throughout the Atlanta Metro area. |

Jazz Band |
The WBMS Jazz Band is a performing ensemble within the Webb Bridge Middle School Band Program. The ensemble consists of woodwinds, brass and rhythm section. The rhythm section consists of piano, guitar, bass, vibraphone and drumset. Audition is required for membership into this ensemble. |

Jr. Beta |
The purpose of the WBMS Jr. Beta Club is to promote leadership, integrity and good citizenship at WBMS. Students are invited to join based on their worthy character, creditable achievement, and commendable attitude. The membership of this organization is made up of students in grades 6th through 8th. Part of the membership of Junior Beta Club is to complete 100 points worth of service to our school and community. Jr. Beta members also get to experience enrichment opportunities such as Field Trips that offer authentic learning opportunities.

Science Olympiad |
Science Olympiad is an American team competition in which students compete in 23 events pertaining to various scientific disciplines, including earth science, biology, chemistry, physics, and engineering. During our time together at WBMS, we will decide on our projects and create them! |
