• We will follow FCS Board Policy Regulation IA-R (1) that states the following:

  Placement Waivers

  A.      Provisions will be made for parents of students not recommended for advancement to request a waiver for their student to be placed beyond the on-level curriculum in language arts and/or mathematics.

  B.      A form for such requests may be obtained from the principal.

  C.      All requests for a waiver must be made within 5 business days of receiving notification of a student’s placement for the upcoming semester.

  D.      If a student is placed in an advanced or accelerated level, teachers are not expected to provide direct instruction for pre-requisite standards.

  E.       If a student’s numeric average is less than 70 at the 18-week review, the student may return to the on-level curriculum.  A conference should be held to discuss the student’s progress.
